The first day of the final placement at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C) passed off smoothly today with 230 plus offers already in hand, including pre-placement offers and the laterals process.
Japanese investment bank Daiwa Securities and a global consulting firm, Essex Lake group gave exclusive offers to IIM-C.
IIM-C said finance saw a manifold increase in the number of offers, as compared to last year, with investment banks like UBS, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank and HSBC picking up many students.
Consulting firms gave the most number of offers on first day, called as day zero, with the usual favourite Mckinsey & Co making 13 offers, including 4 pre-placements.
The firm recruited for its Singapore, Sydney and India offices.
BCG, Bain & Co and AT Kearney recruited in large numbers as well.
