67.13 lakh tn wheat arrives in Haryana

Over 67.13 lakh tonne of wheat has so far arrived in various grain markets of Haryana as against total arrival of 63.61 lakh tonnes during the last season.

This is the second highest wheat arrival in the state. The highest wheat arrival of 69.24 lakh tonne was recorded in the year 2009-10, a spokesman of Food and Supplies Department said here today. 

He said out of the total arrival of wheat, over 67.09 lakh tonne of wheat had been purchased by the government procuring agencies and the rest 4,084 tonne by the traders.

Giving details of the wheat procured by the government agencies, he said over 23.49 lakh tonne of wheat had been purchased by HAFED, over 17.66 lakh tonne by Food and Supplies Department, over 8.19 lakh tonne by Food Corporation of India, 6.72 lakh tonne by Haryana Agro Industries Corporation, 6.05 lakh tonne by Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 4.96 lakh tonne by CONFED. 

Sirsa district was leading in wheat arrival, where over 9.84 lakh tonne of wheat had so far arrived in the mandis, he added.
