BSE mid-cap, small-cap indices hit new highs; Adani Enterprises zooms 30%

The BSE mid-cap and small-cap indices hit their respective record highs after a strong rally in Adani Group, financials, infrastructure and hotel stocks.
At 12: 17 pm; the S&P BSE Midcap and S&P BSE Smallcap index were up 1% each, surpassing their respective previous highs touched on April 12, 2017. In comparison, the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex was up 0.75% at 29,635, which is still nearly 400 points away from its all-time high of 30,024.74 hit on March 2015.

IRB Infrastructure, Taj Gvk Hotels & Resorts, Royal Orchid Hotels, MBL Infrastructure, Atlanta, Gruh Finance, DCB Bank, Patel Engineering and BGR Energy have rallied in the range of 5% to 12% on BSE.
Total 35 stocks from the mid and small-cap indices have hit record highs in intra-day trade today. The list includes, LIC Housing Finance, Mahanagar Gas, Petronet LNG, Dewan Housing Finance, Fortis Healthcare, Ceat, MRF and TVS Motor Company.
Among the individual stocks, Adani Enterprises has zoomed 30% to Rs 160 on BSE on back over nine-fold jump in trading volumes. Till 12:17 pm; a combined 60.23 million equity shares representing 5.5% of total equity of the company changed hands on BSE and NSE.
