FPOs of NTPC, REC by March, says government

Post listing, Oil India would be eligible for a Navratna status, said S Pradhan, joint secretary, Ministry of Disinvestment. It, however, will have to apply for the status to the Department of Public Enterprises.

Pradhan said by March 2010, the government planned to bring four-five public issues. These include the follow-on public offers of state-owned utilities NTPC and Rural Electrification Corporation (REC).
