Gitanjali Gems has surged 2% to 341 after reports said that the brand's value has risen 84%.
The value of the four brands of Gitangali Gems - Gili, Nakshatra, Asmi and D’Damas — rose 84% in the last two years due to tightening loopholes as suggested by UK-based valuer Brand Finance. The overall corporate brand value of the company was estimated at Rs 5,584 crore. The four leading brands were in 2009 valued accumulatively at Rs 1,502 crore, which has today risen to Rs 2,769 crore.
The stock opened at Rs 335 and surged to a high of Rs 347. Around 3,02,000 shares have been traded on the BSE already as against a two-week daily trade average of 4,53,000 shares.
