Gold futures for February fell by Rs 61, or 0.2% to Rs 30,630 per 10 grams in 3,464 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the April contract fell by Rs 59, or 0.19%, to Rs 31,216 per 10 grams in 1,010 lots.

Speculators offloading their positions at prevailing levels affected the trade.

In Singapore, gold retreated 0.2% to $1,683.80 an ounce in early trade.
