Snapping out its four-day long losing spell, gold prices ton Monday recovered Rs 75 to Rs 12,750 per 10 gm here on emergence of buying by stockists and retailers. Standard gold and ornaments met with fresh demand and rose by Rs 75 each to Rs 12,750 and Rs 12,600 per 10 gm. Sovereign followed suit and gained Rs 25 at Rs 10,600 per piece of eight gram.
However, in Mumbai, gold prices declined on lack of demand. Standard gold dipped Rs 40 to Rs 12,470 per 10 gm, pure gold fell to Rs 12,535 from Rs 12,575. However, silver ready was quoted higher at Rs 24,840 per kg as against Rs 24,830 previously.
