KEC Int'l gains 5% on Rs 340-cr order

KEC International has moved higher by 5% to Rs 51.40 after the company said it has secured an order worth of Rs 340 crore from Sterlite Technologies for the construction of 785 kv and 400 KV transmission lines in Maharashtra and Gujarat.

“The order is secured from Bhopal Dhule Transmission Company Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sterlite Technologies,” the power line transmission maker said in a filing to the stock exchanges.

“There are increasing number of projects being set up on Build-Own-Operate / Build-Own-Operate-Maintain basis and the company would continue to explore possibilities of securing EPC portion of these projects,” said Ramesh Chandak, MD & CEO of KEC International.

A combined 503,282 shares have changed hands on the counter so far on the NSE and BSE.
