L&T gains after consortium wins order worth Rs 1,213 crore

The consortium of L&T and Sojitz Corp., Japan has won the order from the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd.

Shares of L&T were up over 2% on the BSE after the company said that a consortium of L&T and Sojitz Corp., Japan has won a major order worth Rs 1,213 crore from the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd.

The design and build order involves electrification works for a 422km section of the western dedicated freight corridor from Vadodara in Gujarat to JNPT (near Mumbai) in Maharashtra, the company said in a release.

The project is scheduled to be completed in 42 months, the release added.

The stock opened at Rs 1113 and touched a high of Rs 1136. At 11:05am, over 860,000 shares were traded on both the stock exchanges.
