Markets continue to languish

Markets continue to languish in red. However, they have recovered from the day's low.

The Sensex is now down 46 points at 16,962. The Nifty is down 18 points 5,046.

Jaiprakash Associates continues to trade in red and is now down 4.6% at Rs 244. Tata Motors and Larsen & Toubro have dropped 2.5% each to Rs 547 and Rs 1,630, respectively.

ICICI Bank has shed 2% at Rs 910. Reliance, Maruti Suzuki, BHEL and Tata Power have slipped 1% each.

On the other hand, Infosys has gained 2.2% at Rs 2,215. ITC and Bharti Airtel have added 2% each to Rs 249 and Rs 339, respectively.

Sterlite, Hindustan Unilever, Reliance Communications and Sun Pharma have moved up around 1% each.

The market breadth is positive. out of 2,261 shares traded 1,143 have advanced while 1,044 have declined.
