Markets near day's low

The markets have extended losses after European exchanges opened weak.

The Sensex is now down 65 points at 17,575. The Nifty has dropped 22 points at 5,253.

ACC has shed 2.6% at Rs 956. TCS has dropped 2.5% to Rs 782. Wipro is down 2% at Rs 733.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Grasim have slipped 2% each to Rs 1,159 and Rs 748, respectively.

Unitech, Hero Honda, HDFC, Suzlon, Jaiprakash Associates and Hindalco are also trading in the red now.

However, SBI has added 1% to Rs 2,180. BHEL and ICICI Bank are up marginally at Rs 2,404 and Rs 863, respectively.

The NSE market breadth is negative. 585 stocks have advanced while 698 have declined.
