NHPC ends Day 1 at 2% premium

NHPC finally ended the first day on the bourses at Rs 36.70, a marginal 2% premium. Over 193 million shares changed hands at BSE today.

The other power firm listed recently, Adani Power, ended the day at Rs 100.85 - up just 1% from its issue price of Rs 100.

The stock is now trading at Rs 37.90. Over 107 million shares have been traded on the BSE so far.

NHPC listed at Rs 39.50 on the BSE as against the issue price of Rs 36. A premium of nearly 10% to the issue price.

The stock at 1000 hrs is trading at Rs 37.50, and around 16.51 million shares have been traded in the first few minutes on the BSE.

The initial public offer (IPO) of hydro power producer was subscribed over 23 times, thanks to the huge response from institutional investors.

The total bids received was for over 39.46 billion shares against 1.67 billion shares on offer, as per the  National Stock Exchange data.

Recently, Adani Power made a lacklustre debut on ending Day 1 at the issue price of Rs 100. The stock infact had dipped below its issue price in intra-day deals.

Adani Power too had receoved an whelming response for its IPO, and was subscribed 21.51 times.
