Nifty up over 100pts; breadth +ve

The NSE Nifty is up 102 points at 3,918.

HDFC and Maruti have zoomed nearly 7% each to Rs 1,837 and Rs 585, respectively. HDFC Bank has rallied 6% to Rs 958.

TCS and Mahindra & Mahindra have surged over 5% each to Rs 765 and Rs 519, respectively.

DLF and Jaiprakash Associates have gained 4.5% each at Rs 412 and Rs 143, respectively.

Tata Motors and ICICI Bank have moved up 4.3% each to Rs 413 and Rs 542, respectively. Larsen & Toubro has added nearly 4% to Rs 2,358.

Satyam and ACC have advanced over 3.5% each to Rs 409 and Rs 533, respectively.

SBI and BHEL are up around 3% each at Rs 1,175 and Rs 1,421, respectively.

Ranbaxy has shed 4% at Rs 452, and Tata Steel has dropped 3.3% to Rs 605.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,330 stocks traded so far, 1,371 have advanced and 891 have declined.
