Frustrated over the minuscule participation of retail investors over the last 25 years in its schemes, SBI Mutual fund has launched a campaign from Bhopal to reach more than 300 cities across the country. The company will reach nearly 150,000 retail investors and lure them towards mutual funds across the country. “Investment in mutual fund is pathetic at 7% only vis-à-vis 44% in the USA,” said an official.
We are launching our investor awareness campaign from Bhopal so that investors can park their savings in mutual funds too besides fixed deposits,” said Deepak Chatterjee here on Monday.
The company, according to Chatterjee will not only education investors towards mutual funds but will also introduce its SIP (systematic investment plans). The awareness campaign will be launched through mobile van equipped with audio video devices. It will also hawk its products through bank branches.
