The Sensex is now down 60 points at 13,982.
Tata Steel has soared 3.3% to Rs 496. ACC and ITC have surged around 3% each to Rs 624 and Rs 196, respectively.
Hindustan Unilever has moved up 1.7% to Rs 249.
Satyam has plunged 4.4% to Rs 354. Jaiprakash Associates and Maruti have tumbled 3.7% each to Rs 130 and Rs 715, respectively.
Hindalco has dropped 2.7% to Rs 110. Larsen & Toubro has slipped over 2% to Rs 2,589.
Tata Motors has shed 1.8% at Rs 415. ONGC, Reliance Communications, Reliance Infrastructure, Ranbaxy and BHEL are down around 1.5% each at Rs 1,055, Rs 368, Rs 879, Rs 352 and Rs 1,688, respectively.
Out of 2,562 stocks traded so far, 1,284 have declined, 1,197 have advanced and 81 are unchanged.
