The Sensex touched a high of 15,084, up 418 points from the previous day's close. Constant buying in the IT, metal and realty stocks have pulled the markets upwards.
The BSE Realty, IT and the metal indices lead the rally so far. These indices are over 4% each at 3,756, 3,335 and 11,362, respectively.
The Sensex is now at 15,050, up 384 points.
Ranbaxy has surged 7% to Rs 285. Wipro has addded over 6% to Rs 431.
DLF and Larsen & Toubro have gained over 5% each at Rs 385 and Rs 1,555, respectively.
Tata Power, Reliance Communication and TCS have soared over 4.5% each to Rs 1,133, Rs 323 and Rs 772, respectively.
SBI, Tata Steel, Jaiprakash Associates, Hindalco, Infosys, Maruti, Reliance Infrastructures, ITC, ICICI Bank, Sterlite, Reliance, HDFC and ACC are up 1-4% each.
NTPC, Grasim, Bharti Airtel and Tata Motors are some of losers so far.
The market breadth is however negative, out of 2,647 shares traded, 1,107 have advanced and 1,489 have declined so far on the BSE.
