The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 317 points at 9,362. The index has touched a high of 9,805, and is now up 696 points at 9,741.
Sterlite and HDFC have zoomed nearly 12% each to Rs 276 and Rs 1,678, respectively.
Mahindra & Mahindra and Wipro have soared 11.5% each to Rs 338 and Rs 286, respectively.
ICICI Bank, Tata Steel and Reliance have surged 10.3% each to Rs 381, Rs 207 and Rs 1,328, respectively.
HDFC Bank and Tata Power have rallied 10% each to Rs 1,041 and Rs 678, respectively.
Infosys has moved up 9.7% to Rs 1,429. ACC and Hindalco have added 8.5% each to Rs 515 and Rs 58, respectively.
TCS has advanced nearly 8% to Rs 585. Satyam and DLF are up around 7% each at Rs 303 and Rs 216, respectively.
