Sensex rebounds; Tata Power up, Hindustan Unilever down

The Sensex opened 62 points lower at 14,594. The index has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 35 points at 14,692.

The NSE Nifty is up 11 points at 4,425.

Tata Power has surged 2.3% to Rs 1,143. Reliance Communications has bounced back 2% to Rs 446.

HDFC Bank, SBI and ICICI Bank have gained 1.7% each at Rs 1,127, Rs 1,526 and Rs 653, respectively.

BHEL, Reliance Infrastructure and Maruti are the other major gainers.

Hindustan Unilever has shed 1.8% at Rs 231. HDFC, Sterlite and TCS have slipped 1% each to Rs 2,371, Rs 626 and Rs 831, respectively.
