Sensex slips after a +ve start; ICICI Bank sheds 6%

The Sensex opened 65 points higher at 9,633, and soon touched a high of 9,739. The index however could not holds and has slipped into the negative zone. The Sensex is now down 20 points at 9,548.

ICICI Bank has slumped nearly 6% to Rs 318. HDFC has tumbled 3% to Rs 1,408.

Sterlite and HDFC Bank have plunged 2.7% each to Rs 341 and Rs 920, respectively.

SBI and DLF have shed around 2.5% each at Rs 997 and Rs 162, respectively.

TCS has sruged nearly 2% to Rs 533.

Jaiprakash Associates, Tata Motors and Ranbaxy have moved up around 1.7% each to Rs 80, Rs 175 and Rs 161, respectively.

Sun Pharma has gained 1.5% at Rs 1,099. Bharti Airtel and Larsen & Toubro have advanced over 1% each to Rs 617 and Rs 658, respectively.

BHEL, ONGC and ACC are also up 1% each at Rs 1,490, Rs 791 and Rs 571, respectively.
