Sensex up 144pts in early trades; DLF gains 3%

The Sensex opened 72 points higher at 9,740, has extended gains and is now up 144 points at 9,812.

BHEL has soared 3.5% to Rs 1,536. DLF has surged over 3% to Rs 182.

Reliance Infrastructure has gained 2.5% at Rs 551. HDFC Bank and Tata Power have rallied over 2% each to Rs 995 and Rs 755, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel and HDFC have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 635, Rs 372, Rs 602 and Rs 1,625, respectively.

Wipro, Reliance and ONGC have advanced 1.7% each to Rs 246, Rs 1,559 and Rs 776, respectively.

Tata Steel, Reliance Communications, Sterlite, Jaiprakash Associates, Grasim and SBI are up around 1.5% each.
