The Sensex is now up 107 points at 15,181.
The NSE Nifty is up 27 points at 4,545.
Tata Motors has soared 4.4% to Rs 446. Sterlite and Maruti have surged 3.5% each to Rs 608 and Rs 675, respectively.
HDFC Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied 3.3% each to Rs 1,256 and Rs 581, respectively.
HDFC and Tata Steel have gained 2.5% each at Rs 2,457 and Rs 662, respectively.
Satyam and Reliance Infrastructure have advanced over 2% each to Rs 416 and Rs 1,034, respectively. NTPC has added 1.8% to Rs 184.
