Volatile Day: Wipro soars 7%; ITC weak

The Nifty is up 25 points at 3,922.

Wipro has zoomed 6.7% to Rs 444, and Satyam has soared 4.5% to Rs 452.

Reliance Communications and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied around 3.5% each to Rs 410 and Rs 455, respectively.

SBI has advanced nearly 3% to Rs 1,054. Infosys and BHEL have gained 2.7% each at Rs 1,757 and Rs 1,392, respectively.

Hindalco has moved up 2.5% to Rs 137, and HDFC Bank has added 1.8% to Rs 984.

ACC, Tata Motors and ITC have dropped around 2.5% each to Rs 492, Rs 398 and Rs 179, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure and Jaiprakash Associates have shed around 2% each at Rs 688 and Rs 133, respectively.

DLF has declined 1.5% to Rs 363. Hindustan Unilever and Grasim are down 1% each at Rs 196 and Rs 1,737, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,574 stocks traded so far, 1,815 have advanced, 705 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
