Weakness continues; ACC slumps 8%

The NSE Nifty is down 54 points at 4,083.

ACC has tumbled over 8% to Rs 532. Ambuja Cements and Reliance Infrastructure have slumped 6.5% each to Rs 76 and Rs 829, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Tata Motors have plunged 5% each to Rs 620 and Rs 427, respectively. DLF has shed 4.5% at Rs 405.

HDFC and Reliance Communications have slipped over 4% each to Rs 1,965 and Rs 454, respectively.

Grasim has dropped 3.8% to Rs 1,871, and Mahindra & Mahindra has declined 3.5% to Rs 493.

Maruti and Hindustan Unilever are down over 3% each at Rs 624 and Rs 202, respectively.

Satyam and Jaiprakash Assocaites have gained 1.5% each at Rs 446 and Rs 145, respectively.

Infosys and ONGC have advanced 1% each to Rs 1,725 and Rs 838, respectively.

Out of 2,546 stocks traded so far, 1,859 have declined, 632 have advanced and 55 are unchanged.
