Zinc futures prices fell by 0.34% today, amid a weak trend at the spot market due to sluggish demand despite the metal strengthening at the London Metal Exchange.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, September zinc fell by by 35 paise, or 0.34%, to Rs 103.55 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,494 lots.

The October contract fell by 30 paise, or 0.29%, to Rs 104.50 per kg, with a trading volume of 70 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in zinc futures prices to a weak trend at the spot markets owing to sluggish demand.

Meanwhile, zinc rose by 0.2% to $2,192.75 a tonne.
