Zinc prices fell by 0.13% to Rs 113.35 per kg in futures market today after speculator off-loaded their positions due to sluggish demand at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the January contract traded lower by 15 paise, or 0.13 %, to Rs 113.35 per kg, with a business turnover of 35 lots.

The December contract shed 5 paise, or 0.04 % to Rs 112.35 per kg in a turnover of 257 lots.

Marketmen attributed the decline in zinc futures to weakness in copper and other metals and subdued domestic demand, besides absence of global cues as the London Metal Exchange is closed today for 'Boxing Day' holiday.
