'Fifty Shades of Grey' will not be released in UAE, as the National Media Council (NMC) has confirmed it after the review screening.

Juma Obaid Al Leem, director of the Media Content Tracking Department at the NMC said that they already saw the E.L James adaptation and even the company who imported it initially said not to pass it in UAE as it contains many sex scenes, Gulf News reported.

Leem added that they are not against the people who are watching the movie, and if they edit it with multiple cuts then it will not be left worth watching.

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson starrer movie is the second-biggest February debut, and has opened at No. 1 in 55 foreign markets where it was released and has so far raked in a total of 158 million dollars.

Kenya, Indonesia and Malaysia have already banned this erotic drama film.
