The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday released its final list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Delhi. With this list, the AAP has now declared its candidates for all 70 assembly seats.
The AAP's official twitter handle posted the names of the candidates in a series of tweets.
The candidates are Pawan Sharma from Adarsh Nagar, Pramila Tokas from RK Puram, Suresh Bhardwaj from Wazirpur, Ajay Dutt from Ambedkar Nagar, Chaudury Goverdhan Singh from Mehrauli, Haji Yunus from Mustafabad, Pankaj Pushkar from Timarpur, while Sarita Singh will stand from the Rohtash Nagar constituency.
The AAP released its latest list after the Congress party released its first list of candidates on Thursday. With this list of names, the AAP has now released the names of their candidates for all 70 assembly seats in Delhi.
Earlier, the Union Cabinet had given its approval for the dissolution of the Delhi State Assembly after holding a meeting to discuss Lieutenant-Governor (LG) Najeeb Jung's recommendation.
Jung had sent a status report to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) over government formation in the capital after consultations with the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) at Raj Niwas to explore the possibility of government formation in Delhi. The LG had met all the three party leaders separately.
In the meeting, all the parties had expressed their inability to form the government in Delhi.
Delhi has been under President's rule since February 2014 after the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government stepped down after 49 days in office.
