43 Taliban insurgents were killed and 20 others were wounded in airstrikes and ground forces operations on Sunday night in Afghanistan.
The operations were launched with the help of foreign troops in three areas of Nawa district of southern Helmand province.
"Haji Ahmad, Faizi and Haqbeen, three Taliban commanders were also among the dead," the TOLO News quoted a statement from the provincial governor's office, also adding that "Zhar Sahed and Aynak area of Nawa has been cleared of Taliban."
The Taliban, however, has rejected the claim of insurgents being killed in the airstrikes.
