All India Gaming Federation (AIGF) has welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative of scrapping Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes, saying it is an attempt to curb illegal practices and put a restraint on corruption and black money in the country.

Roland Landers, CEO of AIGF sounded in complete agreement to Prime Minister's proposal and mentioned, "Facts depict that over the last two-and-a-half years, India's global ranking on corruption has moved only to 76th position from 100th earlier."

"This clearly shows the extent of corruption in the country and there is still a long way to go, but this is going to be one crucial step towards the change we all wish to see. As an organisation and on behalf of our members we have always been supporting regulation and legalisation in the Gaming Industry," he added.

While making the announcement, the Prime Minister said that there is a need for a decisive war against the menace of corruption, black money and terrorism since they are the festering wounds which make a country hollow from within and holds back the nation's progress.
