AIMPLB sympathises with Sonu Nigam's 'individual' Azaan problem

After Sonu Nigam shared how he was forced to wake up early because of the sound of morning Azaan from a local mosque, All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) secretary Zafaryab Jilani on Monday suggested the former to directly talk to the Muslims of his locality.

While talking to ANI, Jilani said, "If Sonu Nigam has any problem, then he should talk to the concerned people of that area. He can ask them to lower down the volume of the speaker facing his house."

"It is his individual problem and I personally sympathise with him," he added.

Talking on the same, however, the Congress Party said that be it Azaan at the mosques or prayers at the temples and churches, these are old traditions.

Congress spokesperson Tom Vadakkan told ANI if the 43-year-old singer does not find it pleasing, then it is his "point of view."

"These are parts of pluralistic society. When I hear the Bhajans coming from the nearby temple at 5 o'clock in the morning, it's music to my ears. But if Nigam ji does not find Azaan soothing, then that's his personal view," he said.

Earlier this morning, the Bollywood singer landed in trouble for his controversial tweets.

The singer took to his Twitter page to term the morning loud sound of Azaan as "forced religiousness.
