Ajmer: Another newborn death takes toll to nine

Another newborn was reported to have died in Ajmer's Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital on Tuesday, taking the total number of infant deaths to nine.

Earlier, in a tragic incident, five newborns died in a government hospital in Ajmer city last week.

On Monday, three more newborn babies died in Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital of septicaemia.

The family members of the newborns, who were five to six days old, alleged negligence by the doctors.

All the newborns who died had been undergoing treatment at the government hospital and were admitted to the ICU.

The Collector has assured stringent action against the guilty.
