M.K. Alagiri, who has been expelled from the Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) by his father and party president M. Karunanidhi, said on Wednesday

that he won't contest the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, and predicted that he would be surprised if the DMK wins one or two seats in the polls .

He said, "I don't care whether Stalin becomes the DMK president or not. I am sure there would be action against who instigated to expel me. I did not invite Vaiko. How can I stop him from coming home? Didn't my father meet Vaiko at the Poonamale Court? I will raise questions about the protection of the DMK's property," Alagiri said.

The DMK on Tuesday permanently suspended Alagiri from the party citing his 'anti-party activities' as the reason for the decision.

The rebel son of the party patriarch was earlier suspended from the party on January 24 after he had opposed the proposed handing over of the reins of the party to M.K. Stalin.

Karunanidhi had said that his (Alagiri's) suspension would not affect the party and that there is no threat to the party.

He had also said that the talks about Alagiri's suspension having an effect on the poll prospects of party are just a figment of the media's imagination.

Earlier this week, Karunanidhi had warned the party members of severe action against them if they were found to be in touch with Alagiri.
