Amanda Bynes has been hospitalized for psychiatric evaluation after allegedly setting fire in California, it has been revealed.

A rep for the Ventura County Sheriff's office told Fox News that the former Nickelodeon star is being held on a 5150 hold, which is an involuntary hospitalization for mental analysis.

The sheriff's office said in a statement that the troubled actress, 27, was involved in a disturbance in a residential neighborhood on Tuesday in Thousand Oaks in the 200-block of Avenida De Los Arboles.

The release stated that the deputies investigated the incident and determined that she met the criteria of 5150.

The spokesperson asserted that Bynes was detained and taken for a mental health evaluation.

Deputies added that the 5150 hold, which can last for up to 72 hours, was brought on after Bynes started a small fire in the driveway of a home in Southern California.
