A passenger on an American Airlines flight was detained on Saturday after trying to breach the cockpit.
Crew members on the American Airlines Flight 31 and an off-duty police officer took an American Airlines passenger into custody who caused a disturbance aboard a flight from Los Angeles International Airport to Hawaii on Friday morning and the Airbus 321 landed in Honolulu.
"Due to disturbance during the flight the crew requested that enforcement meet the aircraft upon landing in Honolulu," American Airlines said in a statement.
Two Pacific command F-22 Raptors from the US Pacific Command escorted the flight for the final part of the flight,Navy Cmdr. Dav Benham said.
Reports emerged that the man tried to break through the cockpit door before being subdued by the flight crew and an off-duty police officer.
