Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah on Sunday praised Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev for his contribution in popularizing Yoga and Ayurveda, after inaugurating the 'Patanjali Seva Sadan' earlier today.

"What Baba Ramdev has done is great, people now look forward to Yoga and Ayurveda to solve health related issues. I would like to congratulate him on behalf of the BJP for this achievement," said Shah.

The BJP president also visited the world's largest Food and Herbal park and Yog Gram in Haridwar.

"I had heard about this from a lot of people, but today I am astonished that a saint has been able to create such an establishment, to promote our ancient tradition of Ayurveda and Yoga. A saint usually educates people, and shares his knowledge, but this it has happened for the first time that a saint is making such a huge effort to preserve traditions," he said.

"Be it in the field of education or yoga, Baba Ramdev has done a lot. If we can develop and reinvent Ayurveda, not only in India but in the whole world, millions of people will benefit from our ancient traditions. Baba Ramdev has called for a healthier state and it is commendable," Shah further added.

The newly-built Patanjali Seva Sadan residential complex has reportedly been built for life time celibates and volunteers.
