Congress senior leader Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday threatened to take to the streets against the failures of the Punjab Government to make payment to sugar cane farmers and checking increasing crime in the state.
"The government seems not to be aware of non-payment to sugarcane farmers, murder of Chand Kaur, wife of the late Satguru Jagjit Singh, former head of Namdhari sect. Forty-two bullets were fired and the numbers of vehicles had been noted, but they don't know. The Akalis are involved in it," former Punjab chief minister told ANI.
He said 60 surpanches, 52 from Ferozpur, joined us today and he was analysing law and order situation and other important matters with them.
"Now, we will take to the streets, as there is no other way to make the state government understand things," he threatened.
When his opinion was sought on the issue of Jat reservation, Captain said, "I fully support reservation for, but for poor section of Jats and not for creamy layers. It should on economic basis.
Meanwhile, Amarinder said the young generation should be given opportunity in the party.
