Nine were killed and around six people were injured on Wednesday as a transport bus rammed into a gharuka (motorised cart) on Mehta road near Chogawan village here.
The bus which belonged to a private company was coming from Amritsar and was on its way to Sri Hargobindpur when it rammed into the cart from behind, which was carrying around 25 people, killing nine people on the spot.

The injured were immediately rushed to hospitals for treatment while the driver of the bus is absconding.
