Barcelona footballer Andres Iniesta has reportedly agreed to extend his stay in the Spanish side until at least 2018, with his current contract ending in 2015.
The current deal of the Spaniard, who is a product of Barcelona's youth training and is reportedly sought by several major European clubs, carries a 200 million-euro release clause.
According to Sport24, Barcelona president Sandro Rosell confirmed the extension and said that the deal would be probably formalized on Monday, adding that after 2018, Iniesta's contract can be extended annually depending on his sporting performance.
The report mentioned that although the Barcelona boss gave no financial details, he had earlier said that Iniesta should be the second best paid player in the team, which also features four-time FIFA World Player of the Year Lionel Messi and Brazilian international Neymar.
