Mr. India of Bollywood Anil Kapoor, recently made an appearance at the British Film Institute as a special guest where he discussed about his upcoming film 'Mubarakan'.

The British Council officially launched the U.K. India Year of Culture, a celebration of the longstanding relationship between India and the U.K.

Robin Baker, Head Curator of the British Film Institute had an interesting conversation with Anil.

When asked about his upcoming flick, Anil said he's overwhelmed with whatever he's seen of the film yet and it is the first time he is playing the role of a British Asian from the Sikh community.

He further adds that 90% of the movie has been shot in the U.K. and that it is a typical happy Bollywood film about an Indian family staying in England, rooted in their culture.

Robin further asked the 60-year-old about his experience with filmmaker Danny Boyle in 'Slumdog Millionaire' and Anil was all praises for the director.

He says how he isn't just a good filmmaker, but also a phenomenal human being and an absolute genius. He spoke about how he went with his instinct and chose to do the film and had a great working experience with him in 'Slumdog Millionaire.'

When asked about the cinematic relationship between India and the U.K., the actor talks about how the advent of the digital format has made the younger generation think more globally, bringing about change in cinema which brings the world closer together.

He feels young filmmakers in India as well as the U.K. will bring about terrific work and successful collaborations. He also says he admires the incredible level of commitment put into planning and preparations by the British team.

The actor also took to social media and shared pictures of the event, which also had the talented Anoushka Shankar. He tweeted saying, "Honoured to open the @BFI "India on Film" event in London! Such a great initiative to foster collaboration between two great nations!"

On a related note, 'Mubarakan' is an upcoming Indian romantic comedy film, written and directed by Anees Bazmee where Anil, Arjun Kapoor, Ileana D'Cruz and Athiya Shetty will be playing the lead roles.
