Any victory for Congress in 2014 will be Rahul Gandhi's victory: Manmohan Singh

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the All Indian Congress Committee (AICC) meet on Friday said that any victory for the Congress in 2014 will be party Vice President Rahul Gandhi's victory.

"If we work hard and tell people what we have done, we can win and any victory in 2014 will be Rahul Gandhi's victory," said Singh.

"I would also like to express my gratitude towards party President Sonia Gandhi, and would like to say that the commitment shown by her has benefited the government tremendously," he said.

He also said that the Congress had always worked towards bringing transparency.

"We are accused of not doing anything to control corruption, but I would say that we have worked towards bringing transparency like no one ever did We have committed mistakes, but we have always tried to learn from them," he added.

Sonia Gandhi at the AICC meet said that the decision taken by the party that Vice President Rahul Gandhi will be the poll panel head is final, and that the Congress was ready for the battle.

This meeting has been organized to strategize the party's move ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha election, and will also be deciding the role of Rahul Gandhi.
