After Taylor Swift's open letter, 'To Apple, Love Taylor' and protests from independent labels, Apple has agreed to pay royalties to musicians and publishers during the three month free trial of its streaming service.

The company's senior vice president Eddy Cue responded directly to the 25-year-old singer in his tweet, "AppleMusic will pay artist for streaming, even during customer's free trial period. We hear you @taylorswift13 and indie artists. Love, Apple," reported the Guardian.

Cue, who assured that the artists will be paid "per-stream" royalty during the trial, added that he has already called the 'Shake It Off' hit-maker to tell her about the change of plans.

He said that Swift's tweet solidified the issue for them and they decided to make a change but the singer has not signed a deal to put her music on Apple Music yet.

Expressing her happiness on the company's decision the 'Bad Blood' star tweeted, "I am elated and relieved. Thank you for your words of support today. They listened to us.
