With the city still recovering from a suicide bombing at Ariana Grande's show two weeks ago and even less than 24 hours after a deadly terror attack across London, a benefit concert "One Love Manchester" by Ariana Grande and other pop stars went on as planned Sunday night here.

The show opened to a minute of silence and a performance by Marcus Mumford of Mumford and Suns.

Mumford urged the crowd to "not be afraid."

The concert was aimed to raise money for those affected by the bombing that killed 22 people and wounded more than 100 at Grande's May 22 concert.

Officials say security was bolstered for the concert.

Grande was joined by a slew of stars for the sold-out concert, including Coldplay, Pharrell Williams, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Usher and the Black Eyed Peas.

Few fans has earlier questioned whether Sunday's show would go on after three armed men drove a van into a crowd on the London Bridge on Saturday night and another incident was reported at the Borough Market in London. Both incidents were declared to be terror attacks.

Seven people were killed and 48 injured in the attack.
