Ashes: Anderson returns to England's squad for fifth Test

England bowler James Anderson who missed the fourth Ashes Test against Australia due a side strain, has now been named in the England's squad for the fifth Ashes Test beginning at The Oval from August 20.

Confirming the news, national selector James Whitaker said that the 33-year-old is continuing to improve, adding that he might be able to play a part in it,the BBC reported.

The star bowler has replaced Mark Footitt in a 14-man squad.

Anderson was injured on day two at Edgbaston as England inched towards the victory after reducing the tourists to 168-7 at stumps.

Anderson was at his dominant best on the opening day as he claimed six wickets to bundle out Australia for a paltry 136 at Edgbaston.

England have now regained the Ashes series after claiming an emphatic innings and 78-run win over Australia on the third day of the fourth Test at a jubilant Trent Bridge.

England have beaten Australia in four consecutive home series.
