Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin produced a magical spell and was ably assisted by Harbhajan Singh before the rain-affected lone Test between India and Bangladesh ended in a draw here on Sunday.
Resuming at an overnight position of 113-3, Bangladesh lost Shakib al Hasan in the third over of the day. Imrul Kayes (72) continued to motor along and was well supported by Soumya Sarkar (37) as the duo shared a 51-run partnership. However, both batsmen departed in successive overs.
Ashwin claimed his first five-wicket haul outside India and Harbhajan (3-64) became the ninth highest Test wicket taker in the history of the game by surpassing legendary Pakistan bowler Wasim Akram.
Although the draw was inevitable after the first session of the final day was washed out, the spinners enforced a follow-on against the hosts shortly after tea.
The hosts had batted out 15 overs in the second innings and were 23-0 before the final day's play was called off.
