Baba Ramdev accuses Congress of treating the public as personal property

Yoga guru Ramdev termed the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty as plunderer and accused Congress's first family of treating country as their personal property.

Ramdev, while addressing a news conference on Tuesday in Chamba said that Gandhi family used to think that no one can point finger at them.

"The Nehru family has turned into plunderer and they assume India as their personal property. They used to think that no one can point finger on them and no one can talk against them", said he.

Ramdev has extended his support for BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and has been touring India to garner votes for the party, after the BJP accepted his proposal to bring back black money stashed in foreign banks, if voted to power.

However, Ramdev, who came under flak for his remark earlier on April 25 over Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi visiting the Dalit community for picnics, now, faces scrutiny by National Commission for Schedule Caste.

Vice chairman of National Commission for Schedule Caste, Dr Raj Kumar Verka said that strong action would be taken against Ramdev for his controversial remark.

"Action will be taken according to the state atrocities act 1989 because he has tried to divide the society. Election is going on in the country and due to such remark riots can happen. We are thinking over it and we are going to take strong action against him", said Verka.

The remark from Ramdev was not just seen as a political attack on the Gandhi family, but also an insult to the women of the Dalit community.

Meanwhile, a huge protest against derogatory remark of Baba Ramdev was seen in the IT hub Bangalore on Tuesday.
