Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Wednesday confirmed that they have arrested the prime accused involved in the murder of prominent publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan.
In a statement issued a short while ago and quoted by the Daily Star, a DMP spokesman said they had arrested Moinul Islam Shamim alias Sifat alias Samir, a key organiser of the Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT). The spokesman said that Islam was the coordinator and trainer of Dipon's killers and had a bounty of two lakh Taka on his head.
The police spokesman said that Islam was picked up from the Cherag Ali Market in Tongi of Gazipur, located on the outskirts of Dhaka, last night.
Dipan, the publisher of the Jagriti Prokashoni, was fatally stabbed inside his office in Dhaka's Aziz Super Market on October 31, 2015.
