Students of Bangladesh's East West University (EWU) have rejected the assurance from authorities of no tuition fee hike, continuing their protests against 7.5 percent VAT on fees.
According to The Daily Star, many other students from private universities across Dhaka and Savar also continued the protests and blockaded roads pressing for withdrawal of the VAT.
Around hundred students of East West University abandoned the classes and joined in the demonstration.
The authorities of EWU informed the students that there would be no tuition fee hike in next three years, said Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, the university's registrar.
