Barcelona football team manager Luis Enrique might reportedly suffer the axe in the club owners bid to keep Argentine talisman Lionel Messi at the Nou Camp.
Messi has reportedly been offered an eye-watering six-year contract from Chelsea, with the Premier League side willing to pay Barca his 200 million-pound buy-out clause.
But sources close to the Barca star have also claimed that Chelsea are willing to meet Messi's wage demands, which could double the total cost of the deal, the Daily Star reported.
Reports in Spain have claimed that Messi is unhappy with Enrique and the pair were involved in a training ground bust-up last week. They had to be separated by Brazilian Neymar and Messi has reportedly given the Barca board an ultimatum that either the manager goes or he does.
And according to a Spanish television channel, Barca are now ready to axe Enrique.
President Josep Maria Bartomeu is said to have sat down with Messi after the Elche game on Thursday and voiced his full support for the four-time Ballon d'Or winner, allegedly telling the Argentine that Enrique is as good as gone.
Messi is reportedly even believed to have named Frank Rijkaard as the ideal man to replace Enrique.
Meanwhile, Chelesa's assistant manager Steve Holland had claimed signing Messi could be impossible because of Financial Fair Play.
However, if Chelsea were to sign Messi it would be the biggest deal in football history, the report added.
