England's head coach Trevor Bayliss has backed top-order batsman Ian Bell, who has been struggling with his form, saying the latter is a hard working player and the team requires experienced players like him against Pakistan.

Bell has scored just 118 runs in the first two Tests of the three-match series against Pakistan.

Reflecting on his performance, the 52-year-old Bayliss said Bell is currently in the third spot as far as scoring runs in the ongoing series are concerned, adding that he is batting at an average of 40.

Bayliss further said that Bell is very much aware that he needs to perform well, and insisted that the player would surely perform well in the third and the final Test,Sport24 reported.

Pakistan are currently in 1-0 lead in the series against England following their 178-run win over the latter in the second Test in Dubai.

The first match between the two sides ended with a draw.

Meanwhile, England will now be aiming to level the series when they take on Pakistan in the series decider match on November 1 at Sharjah.
