A disciplinary committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday imposed life bans on former Test fast bowler S.Sreesanth and Ranji Trophy player Ankit Chavan for their respective spot fixing roles in the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as playing members of the Rajasthan Royals franchise.
The committee also banned Amit Singh for five years and Siddarth trivedi for a year. The committee is yet to deliver its verdict against Ajit Chandila.
The two-member disciplinary committee of the BCCI met in New Delhi today, to decide the fate of Rajasthan Royals cricketers implicated in the scandal.
The panel, comprising board vice-presidents Niranjan Shah and Arun Jaitley, had summoned S Sreesanth and Ankit Chavan, as well as prosecution witnesses Harmeet Singh and Siddharth Trivedi for the meeting. Further updates are awaited.
